“Education is a social process. Education is growth. Education is not a preparation for life. Education is life.” – John Dewey (1859-1952)
Woof’s Atlanta and some counseling students and teachers have joined together to collect school supplies in support of underserved school children and youth in our community. The backpacks and school supplies collected will be distributed through a number of support agencies.
The recipients include elementary, middle, high school and older students associated with Lost-N-Found (which cares for queer youth experiencing homelessness), Path to Shine (an after school tutoring program for kids at risk for dropping out of school), Emmaus House (a community center supporting children and youth in Peoplestown), and more. Will you help us with the cause?
We need backpacks and school supplies for students aged 4-18. Thank you for sharing what you can!
We will be collecting school supplies on Friday, July 20th, from 7-10 pm. Supplies can be dropped off beforehand, if necessary. Visit www.woofsatlanta.com for hours of operation and more information.
Thank you for your support of young people in our community! In addition, on July 20, 25% of the food sales will be given toward our goal!! Also, special Jell-O shots and other surprises will add to the fun.
